VOLUNTEERING

A major key to student success is parent involvement. We welcome your participation at Reavis. Please check with your child daily for any notices and flyers the school sends out. Below are two formal ways to participate at the school. We also invite you to volunteer at Reavis. There is a volunteer application available in the school office.

SCHOOL VISITORS/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Teacher or room visitations may be arranged either by directly contacting the teacher or by requesting an appointment through the office. If this is done, the teacher is in a better position to devote more uninterrupted attention to a problem or situation. We encourage parent-teacher contact; however, it is extremely important that classroom activities uninterrupted. Teachers are available from 8:15 to 8:40 daily. Special arrangements can be made that will be mutually convenient to staff and parent.

LOCAL SCHOOL COUNCIL

The Local School Council is one of many ways parents and community members can be involved in the school. In compliance with the State of Illinois Public Act 85-1418 the Reavis School has a Local School Council composed of six parents and two community representatives who are elected; and two teachers, and the principal who are appointed. The council meets once each month. Dates are subject to change in accordance with correct posting procedures.
